Birch Freeman High School Old Boys Association (BIFOBA UK Chapter) celebrates its 57th founder’s day Anniversary on the 5th February 2017 in London.

The school was founded by the Methodist Mission and was named after its first missionary (Thomas Birch Freeman)that came to Nigeria in 1842.

The school has done very well over the years and has nurtured and produced very eminent and successful individuals amongst which is the former Governor of Lagos state and present Federal Minister for power, works and housing Mr Raji Fashola.

The UK chapter of the BIFOBA was formed in 2012 by a few old boys who thought having an association in the UK was well overdue.

Over the years the group has been faced with a few challenges that affected the progress of the association, but finally, in December 2015, another group of old boys reconstituted the ailing association and ever since Bifoba has been soaring to great heights.

This year’s founder’s day is first of its kind to be celebrated in the UK and all the executives and members are so committed to make it a success.

A Special Founders Day Church Service, celebrated by the Rt Rev Adams (An old boy himself) will the held at St Magdalene Church in Peckham London and will be followed by reception at the church hall.

This event will run from 4 – 6pm in the evening.

It is worthy of note that the anniversary is being celebrated a day before the actual founder’s day (Feburary 6th) because it falls on a Monday.

The association has done so well on social media to publicise and promote the event which from all indications is going to be the trendiest celebration in London on that day.

It will also Mark the beginning of many more events to promote the good image of the school and give back as the association is committed to making improvements to the present status of our dear Alma mater
