I mean…wharris going on?? Did England lose a bet with God or something? Why all this bad news and jagbajantis? Can someone please tell me which god is responsible so we might appease him/her/it please? Before we wake up one day and find Fayose as the Prime Minister of the UK and Obesere as the chancellor of the exchequer? Now, we find out that Roy Hodgson just quit as the manager of the English football team following the poor show against Iceland.

The capable 68-year-old who had managed the team rather successfully for the last four years decided that he could not cope with the embarrassment any longer upped and quit after the 2-1 defeat handed to the team by Iceland.

Beht come first, why can’t the English team play ball? And if you don’t know how to play, won’t you just go and sit down somewhere and instead rest on your laurels as being the inventors of the game? Must they raise the hopes of fervent English fans at every single championship only to fail so woefully?

Iceland – with a population of just 330,000 – were among the lowest-ranked teams in France at 34 in the world. Nobody reckoned with them, and yet they beat England. What the hell??

“I’m sorry it will have to end this way but these things happen,” Hodgson said.

“I hope you will still be able to see an England team in a final of a major tournament soon,” he added.

“Now is the time for someone else to oversee the progress of a hungry and extremely talented group of players. They have done fantastically, and done everything asked of them.”

I’ve never heard more tactful shade in my life. Roy Hodgson basically said “I can’t deal. Someone come take these boys off my hands. Let me go join the ever hopeful fans.”

Our of Europe twice in one week and it’s still only Monday. Do better, England. This is not what Jesus died for.
