Eyin Omo Wobe! Baddosneh and YBNL Gang Rehearse Ahead of UK Tour Turnup

Eyin omo wobe! Strap on your seatbelts as Olamide prepares to bring the heat to the UK and fire up some dull October nights!

The YBNL boss might be from the streets, but his hardwork ethics are nothing short of top class as he storms through the music scene – taking advantage of every opportunity to expose his adoring fans to his music.

Fresh from the collaboration with Phyno on some of Omo Baba Igbo’s latest chart bangers including the awesome ‘Connect’, Olamide continues to grind as he flew into London to meet with the SMADE boss, travel straight out to Birmingham for a sold-out concert tomorrow, and then back to London just in time for what is shaping up to be my favourite performance of the entire year.

That is the smile you get when you meet one of your favourite performers. Rachel of Viva Naija with Adekunle Gold, Olamide Baddosneh, Dotun Kool FM and crew.

It is no secret that I am a great Olamide fan – I sincerely think he is a lyrical genius, and his ability to twist Yoruba words to fit with English phrases is nothing short of spectacular – but it’s not always a good idea to meet your heroes. In this case, the reality met with the dream as Baddosneh was both gracious enough to take pictures while using questions posed to him by the press as opportunity to elevate the other members of the YBNL gang.

He’s said that he has no time to prance around like The Jackson 5 – there will not be YBNL song after YBNL song; he fully wants each artiste to establish themselves as a star in their own right, and I think this is a selfless and inspired way of doing business. handing the baton over is the way to go.

On hand to ensure the rehearsals and press meet went smoothly was the SMADE man himself – fresh from his lavish yet intimate wedding on Tuesday to his gorgeous Zimbabwean bride. While I’m not sure how I would feel if I were a new bride, I certainly admire his work ethic and professionalism.

I think the UK is in for a blazing time this weekend; news of the YBNL concerts have got the Nigerian community LIT and with performers such as Phyno (my Nnunu boo) and Li’l Kesh (I have every intention of dancing to death to Efejoku), and MC-ing by Dotun of Kool FM, it’s guaranteed to be FIERCE!
