Funke Akindele makes Hollywood debut as she’s cast in Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War

It will be the first time a Nigerian-born actor will appear in a Hollywood superhero movie, and that’s quite amazing.

Funke Akindele Bello has reportedly made her Hollywood debut in Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War”. The movie, which is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, has been set for a May 4, 2018, release.

Her name appeared on a line-up provided by IMDb, a reputable online movie oasis known for listing latest film projects.

Akindele has been listed as a member of a long list of casts and will play a member of the Black Panther’s guards, Dora Milaje.

The Dora Milaje are superior women recruited from every tribe of the fictional Wakanda who serve as the personal bodyguards of the Black Panther.

She will star alongside Hollywood A-listers including Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Don Cheadle, Chris Pratt, Scarlett Johansson, Bernicio Del Toro and Chris Evans. Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel feature in voice acting roles.

A brief summary of the movie reads: “In the sequel to Avengers: Age of Ultron , Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk and the rest of the Avengers unite to battle their most powerful enemy yet — the evil Thanos. On a mission to collect all six Infinity Stones, Thanos plans to use the artifacts to inflict his twisted will on reality. The fate of the planet and existence itself has never been more uncertain as everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment.”

An earlier release of the action sequel, “Avengers 2: Age of Ultron”, saw the filmmakers feature a place named Lagos in a fighting scene where some Marvel superheroes engaged themselves in battle.
