Our girl Jill Scott marries long-term boyfriend Mike Dobson

Do you ever sync with someone so well that you feel like your best friends, even if it’s just in your mind? Well, that’s how we feel about Jill Scott. I’ve been loving Jilly from Philly all the way from “Gettin’ In The Way” and always live for her achievements and happiness.

So imagine my absolute joy to find out that she married her long-term love, Mike Dobson, in a very private ceremony over the weekend. The

The 44-year-old Grammy-winning soul singer married her man this Saturday gone, as seen in photos and videos the groom’s friend DJ Mars had previously posted on his Instagram page but since taken down. Now, that’s private!

“So my man called me a year ago and said, ‘Mars I need you to DJ my wedding…don’t get booked on June 25th 2016!’ He came to my house and gave me the deposit early, but he didn’t say he was marrying Jill Scott!!!!! Damn homie!!!!!!!!!!”

The bride looked regal in a white low-cut gown with long lace sleeves and a silver sparkling belt and waved a small fan to keep cool; looking every inch the Philly Queen that she is. Miss Jill Scott also sported white clips in her hair, which she wore up, and a long veil. The groom wore a black tuxedo. Arrangements of white and pink roses adorned tables at the wedding.

Mars wrote:

“This wedding made my summer! I’ve known Mike for almost 20 years, but dude could have alluded to the fact that he was marrying Jill Scott(lol)! All he said was, u are working with her in Vegas. He’s a total class act, he won with the wedding! #djmarsapproved.”

DJ Mars was also responsible for the surprise of the night – arranging for legendary rap king, Big Daddy Kane singing at the event. He reported that the look on Ms Scott’s face was priceless as she sat in front of the rap god and listened to him serenading her and her new groom.
