Jam of The Year, ‘Bad Energy’ By Skepta Ft. Wizkid

Bad Energy is officially the jam of the year! Sweet vibes, telling off bad energy from people with hate. Skepta and Wizkid really did a number on this one.

A few weeks ago, Skepta teased a long overdue collaboration with Wizkid, “Bad Energy”, and the track has finally been released.

Their relationship first came to light when both he and Drake hopped on the remix of Wizkid’s “Ojuelegba”, and while we have since gotten two more Wizkid and Drake collaborations, this is the first solo track between both Nigerian stars.

Like we said when the song was teased, we don’t know a bad Skepta song, and Wizkid seems to have returned to the usual form we know and love, so we were expecting a serious jam. The song does not disappoint, as it finds both artists on top form and has set our mood for the rest of the year.

On the song, they implore all forms of bad energy to stay far away from them, with Wizkid killing the chorus like it’s 2012, and Skepta dropping fire bars. On the closing verse, he raps, “Give them the shaku when I dance with the devil/Young Fela Kuti, the return of the rebel”.

We’re very glad to see Wizkid slaying the game again, and are super impressed that he and Skepta’s camaraderie translated into fire music! We definitely can’t wait to hear more from them!

Until then, listen to “Bad Energy” right here:
