Johnny Drille – Wait For Me: A Mavin Music protégé who stands firmly on his own two feet

Johnny Drille – Wait For Me: there is no secret that I think the Mavin Records crew work best as a choir. Their hit songs Dorobucci and Looku Looku are proof of that. I don’t know any one artiste that can go the distance as a standout, stand-alone star from those stables. Yes, Tiwa Savage tries, but tell me honestly: how many Tiwa Savage solo songs do you know? By know, I mean, you hear it and go “This is my jammmm!”? Korede Bello is good, but I keep wanting to sit him down to do his homework. Di’Ja can hold a tune too, but I personally find her voice too light and airy. She cannot make me cry over a heartbroken ballad; she cannot make me shake my tail feather in the clubs. As for D’Prince…

And then came Johnny Drille – Wait For Me. Y’all, this song is everything! And you know if a man can open with a ballad, there’s very little he can’t do. Another young gun like Korede Bello, but there is width and depth to his voice that just makes you want to sit up and pay attention. Don Jazzy, the master strategist has struck gold with this one and no mistake.

I don’t know when I’m coming back
I’ll be gone for a little while
but I will keep myself for me and you
I’ll be back for you
I don’t know what the future brings
but I want you to be with me…

Tell me you didn’t go to your oga at the top and ask him to propose again!! Baba nla lyrics; baba nla tune!

And the video is excellent and crisply shot too – nothing new here for the Mavin Dynasty, they thrive on superior visuals.

I like the song, I like the video, I like the artiste. Look out for Johnny Drille, I think he’ll go places.

But what do you think? Do you like it? Hate it? Tell us below ??????!
