The British are not American. We do not insult with clear, precise phrases. We care not for the jugular when we can instead burn like an ulcer and eat you from inside out. The British man will insult you and you’ll think “Hah! Is that all you’ve got?!” And then three days later stand still in the middle of traffic looking like:

So, when you forget who you’re dealing with, the British public will only be too happy to bring you back to earth and QUICK, too.

Michael Gove is one of the Conservative MPs vying for the position that is about to be made vacant by Prime Minister David Cameron, but he’s had a few slip-ups along the way.

Most recently, the ‘Vote Leave’ figurehead posted a tweet to clarify his intentions regarding the UK’s post-Brexit relationship with the EU.

With the Brexit campaign being marred by claims they never had plans in place for what we would actually do if we decided to leave, a lot of people saw this as back-tracking.

Obviously, people were quick to point out that “free trade and friendly cooperation” is exactly what is provided by the EU…

But…this is Britain. Yes, we do scathing sarcasm as beautifully as that shown above. But I defy you to find a country more poetic and creative with their insults. Prepare to be blown away by the slayage:

And this final decapitation of epic proportions:

You may be the next Tory leader, Gove. But there’s no love lost here.
