President Obama sends a Valentine’s Day message to Michelle on the Ellen Show

Obama and Ellen Valentines Day

I swear President Barack Obama is probably the best president America has had – certainly in my lifetime. He is articulate, he has wit, charm and charisma, and most importantly, has made great strides doing on of the most difficult jobs in the world whilst being weighed down and opposed just for the heck of it by his own people.

He also seems very down-to-earth, so I wasn’t at all surprised when he and Michelle partook of a little Valentine’s day banter that was aired live on the Ellen Degeneres show yesterday.

The president will be apart from his wife on this – their very last valentine’s Day in the White House, so Michelle took the opportunity to come on air with a surprise message for the POTUS, making up a “Roses are red, violets are blue” poem where she rhymed blue with boo. Because she’s Chicago through and through.

So, not to be outdone, the president went to a pre-arranged set and recited a silly poem he said he’d prepared earlier for the FLOTUS.

He did turn serious at the end though, saying: “Michelle, I’ve made a lot of great decisions as president. The best decision I ever made was choosing you. Thanks for putting up with me. I love you.”

Watch the rest of his conversation with Ellen about how they work things out as a couple.

Here’s wishing the wonderful First Couple a lovely valentine’s Day. Thank you for all the laughs and the hard, hard work!
