It is always a nice thing to see Nigeria at work, irrespective of political party affliation and/or alliance. When our supposed leaders throw tantrums at themselves with nepotistic themes such as indigeneship, tribe, or political party, especially when appointments and benefits are concerned, I’ve always wondered and asked myself – can’t these agbayas just shut up and think Nigeria for once and forget these things that easily beset them?????
So well, it was encouraging to see President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday launch the 260-kilometre Calabar-Kastina-Ala Super Highway road project at Obung, Cross River, a supposed “opposition” state as they say.
According to the president, the road which will link south-south and northern parts of the country, when completed, will also ensure a reduction in travel time and man-hour.
He said that the project was a significant milestone in the economic transformation agenda of the state.
Buhari, who was forced to even abandon his official Chopper and embark on road to the venue of the event due to heavy rain, pledged to be back in due course for the inauguration of the project.
“I feel the warmth of your embrace and the passion in your gaze.
“The future of Cross River State is certain”, he added.
The project is expected to be completed in 4 years.
By the way, I never knew the Governor of Cross River state is a Professor oh….*covers face*
