SHOCKING! FRSC Sector Commander in Rivers state “disciplines” female staff by cutting their hairs

Just when you thought nothing Nigeria does to you will shock you anymore, just when you thought you’ve grown tolerant to Naija’s shenanigans, this absurdity untold happens, and you are shocked beyond words. In 2017, a man, in his Oga-at-the-top guise, picks up scissors to “discipline” errant female subordinates by cutting their hairs? I’m done I’m done, Nigeria zaps too much.

Today, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in Rivers, Andrew Kumapayi, carried out a general inspection on staff of the FRSC headquarters in Port Harcourt. The inspection covered the uniform and finger nails, as well as the hairdo of FRSC personnel and Kumapayi was on hand to ensure that the female officers whose hair styles ran foul of the requirements got an on-the-spot haircut.

Gosh! how did his even happen. There are things done in this country, in this 21st century, that will make even Neanderthals cringe in bemusement at our stupefying emptiness and brazen ignorance! Gosh!

  1. Military and paramilitary rule has it against such hair do and attachments for officers and personnel, especially when in uniforms. They were undisciplined and he was nice to have only cut their hair: it should have been more than just that by “their” rules. I am certain you see cadets and new intakes with low cuts. Modest and moderate natural cut/trimmed hair is the rule.

    • Even if they were indiscipline, he suppose not to do that to the in public he supposed to have given them quary to answer not that. Beside can he allow that to be done to his wife in public if he himself is not a uniform man at least they too they somebody else’s wife and will their husbands be happy with this? Craziness of highest order. Lol

    • Craziness? Let’s not be typical Nigerians here who think rules are just rules. Would it have been better sending her to the guard room, demoted in care, official query leading to suspension, or outrightly dismissed? Learn to live and play by the rules, young lady . Ask me again and I will say you all are being unnecessarily sentimental about a basic rule enforced. It is likely you had same rules as enforced in your secondary school days: be disobedient like a child, be treated as one. Lesson taught; lesson learned.

  2. He did not need to ‘ve taken a scissors and handled it himself. He should ‘ve done what they do at airports and other places where male officials screen men and female officials, women. The man was overzealous but his action can be overlooked.

  4. You won’t be surprised that is how most people in public offices do across Nigeria. The way they treat themselves and especially the way they treat citizens is absurd. Have you been to the Nigeria immigration office of late?
