That moment when you hear a concept and you’re like “This makes perfect sense! Why didn’t someone think of this earlier?!”
This is my feeling about the Stylush Gents concept – pioneered by the astute Mary Ipadeola and her business partner, Gbenga Osifeso.
Stylush Gents’ founder Mary Ipadeola is fulfilling a 7-year dream of change and co-founder Gbenga Osifeso have brought into action their passion and vision to change the stereotypes and embrace the position of black men as contributors to society.
The dream is to celebrate achievements in business and lifestyle as gentlemen of honour, promote the unique fashion sense of the black man, and most importantly uphold their position as Father, Brother, Husband , and role models in setting a pace for the next generation of black men.
Stylush Gents covers different of areas of interest as in politics, business, health, Art and culture fashion, and the ‘stylushness’ that reflects all around our ethnic interest. The aim is to : create awareness, promote achievements, raise young leaders, enhance prospects and be counted for good in our community.
It is no secret that we are passionate about looking good, about putting our best foot forward, passionate about style, grace and elegance. And while there are many platforms dedicated to women looking gorgeous, there are very few, if any, that concentrate on men of African descent looking good, feeling great, and bringing sartorial excellence to the fore. So any movement that incorporates positive core values with looking good is bound to go down well with the Afro-centric community.
Although still a very young concept, the Stylush Gents effect has already started to take hold. A young man, Lawrence Gordon, and young lady, Dani Alaka came to the event specifically to talk about the positive influence Stylush Gents has had in their lives as positive men and women have stood in the gap to help them grow on the straight and narrow.
The Stylush Gents Grand Launch Party is the début event for recognising Afro-origin men in all of these fields as they do it while looking fabulous.
Congratulations to the pioneers and the supporters, it was a wonderful event!
