1. Nars Sheer Glow £31.00

I have to admit I’m a huge fan of Nars products. A little on the pricier side but worth it. The wide colour range makes finding your perfect shade a dream. A true classic sheer glow offers a light to medium coverage, meaning your skin feels breathable yet the coverage allows you to mask blemishes and imperfections. One of the best things about the formula is that you get a glowy complexion without looking oily. The only down side to the product is the packaging: for such a high end product you can’t help but expect more. The lid is a rubbery texture that is prone to getting grubby. Also it does not come with a pump (you can purchase one separately) so it is prone to spillages. That said it’s most definitely a product worth getting, as you will get a beautiful long lasting finish.
2. Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse £7.99

Oily skin? Not a fan of liquid formulas? Have a butchers at the Dream Matte Mouse, its light texture gives a weightless feel on the skin. The pigmentation is great too, as the formula is long lasting. This little wonder offers a medium buildable coverage. It smooths over the surface without seeping into wrinkles or pores therefore avoiding the dreaded caking effect. In the deeper tones this product really does look edible you may be tempted to give it a try but please don’t!

3. Superdrug B Even Oil Control Foundation £10.99

Another great product if you want to limit the effects of oily skin. Describes as creating the perfect balance by regulating excessive oils while hydrating where you need it most. High claims indeed, but does it deliver? Absolutely yes! A must try product that easily competes with some of the higher end foundations that claim to control oil.

4. No 7 Protect and Perfect £16.50

A bit of an under the radar brand. All over the TV they may be, but for some reason, No 7 is not the first brand you think of when it comes to makeup for women of colour. However No 7 have a wide colour range (if you are in the right Boots store) and formulas to suit your skin needs. The Protect and Perfect foundation is great for enhancing a natural radiance and giving the appearance of an even skin tone. It feels very light weight on the skin, blends easily and is buildable for a full coverage look.

5. YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation £28.35

Saving the best to last most certainly applies here. YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation is a big hitter and here’s why. It’s a liquid foundation that feels matt but gives you of luminosity. With subtle gold flecks that dance on the surface of your skin. The medium coverage is buildable and it comes in a wide variety of shades going right along the spectrum to deeper browns. Though it’s not on the cheaper side, it will not disappoint and is worth every hard earned penny.
