WAKAA The Musical comes to London 21st-25th July

The excitement for Wakaa the Musical has been growing steadily here at the Viva Naija Headquarters. Not just because it is an awesome world-standard musical worthy of any international stage, but also because it will be coming here! To London! To Us! Yum!

We’ve written about this ground breaking show in the past; Wakaa The Musical is a Nigerian work of art, produced and directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters. The play will be showing in London from the 21st to the 25th of July 2016. It is the first time a Nigerian Musical will be showing at London’s West End, the prestigious and time-honoured home of theatre within the UK.

The show’s producer and director, Bolanle Austen-Peters expressed her excitement about the international platform thus “This is coming in response to growing interests in productions of African origin across the globe, and various calls for us to take this production to the international community,” she said. “There is a large Nigerian and Afro – Caribbean population in London, who are interested and yearning to see world class productions such as this from Nigeria.”

The visuals are stunning and it is clear that the producer has poured her life and soul in this musical.

I know how we Nigerians are; we simply will not book tickets until the very last minute. I implore you guys to let Jesus use you on this one occasion, however. This musical will be SOLD OUT and quickly too! Come celebrate our people, our culture, our way of life and two of our favourite things in the world – singing and dancing.
