I was born into the light of day
with a breath of life so precious
they pinched me to scream.
The scars still here
not as deep as what I have been brought into;
a world that disrespects me
a world that has no regard for the life I represent
I was born,
not to be hit by the souls of the dead
not to be mocked by the shadows of the traumatized
Yet, here I am
born into a world of sin
tragedy now the light of day
In the dark of night I wake,
tormented by the cruel that still live, untouched
I’d rather not be here,
alive in a world that scares me to death.
