Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central, has joined Nigerians in condemnation of the killing of Kolade Johnson by men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
Kolade, 36, was killed by a stray bullet while watching a Premier League fixture between Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur in Lagos on Sunday evening.
A shocking revelation to the people in the area, his wife, close friends, and other family members. A cruel reminder that life is short, and tomorrow may be taken from us today at any time, or place.
Reacting to the development, in a tweet today, Shehu Sani wrote: “Kolade Johnson; Trigger and Tragedy.
“The perpetrators must be brought to book.”
On his part, Reno Omokri, former spokesman to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, wrote: “What that particular SARS officer did is wrong. He should be held responsible.
“But before we think of ending SARS, let us pick a small area, like Mushin, and test it there. If by ending SARS in Mushin crime reduces, then I will support #EndSARS. If not, I will prefer #ReformSARS”
Our heart goes out to the family and friends of Kolade Johnson, and the recently deceased. May their souls rest in peace..
