You know how it is: whenever it’s a positive thing, na all of us get am o! So I’m thrilled that the Los Angeles Film Festival has nominated British-African film Afua’s Diary for the award of Best Feature Film! The film already blazed trails last week at the BFM International Film Festival – a platform that elevates and airs outstanding black cinema in London, and now it’s on its way to Hollywood.
Afua’s Diary is about an African lady (played by the awesome Cleopatra Wood) who falls in love with a divorced businessman but her escalating problems and his past experiences become a threat to their relationship. The lead actor, Fabio Abraham, is already being recognised as a brilliant performer and will be given an honorary recognition at this year’s Casablanca Film and Documentary Festival, taking place from the 8th to 12th of August.
We’re trying to contact the PR managers to get you dates of when this will be available for viewing, and will update you shortly. In the meantime, YAY Africa!
