Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Simi win big at AFRIMA 2017 awards [SEE FULL LIST]

The showpiece event tagged All Africa Music Awards, “AFRIMA 2017” held on Sunday the 12th of November, at the Eko Hotel Main hall in Lagos, wasn’t short of major talking highlights, ranging from the shocking wins, the big wins, Seyi Shay’s epic fall, and a lasting dose of Sirius sweetness.

The prestigious award was hosted by ace Senegalese singer, Akon and Sophy Aiida, had music lovers and stars across the African continent gather at the event to celebrate the best of African music.

Nigerian artiste Wizkid bagged 3 awards for best male artiste (West Africa), artiste of the year and song of the year with his collaboration with Drake, Come Closer. other winners include Tiwa Savage, Simi, Wande Coal, 2baba, M.I, YCEE, DJ Coublon, Adasa Cookey.

Wizkid’s win came shortly after Davido edged him out at the 2017 MTV EMA by winning the “Best African Act”.

Wizkid’s big win has once again renewed his long-standing battle for supremacy with Davido.

Meanwhile, midway through her energetic performance at the award ceremony, singer, Seyi Shay, lost her balance, slipped and fell.

The singer picked herself up almost immediately and continued performing her hit song, Yolo Yolo.

She later recalled the incident by saying “the devil is a liar”. Her fall is currently a subject of discourse on social media.
