When I keep telling you people that we are here to STAY, you people will think I’m joking.

David #Oyelowo is next up to play James Bond… after snaring the role in a forthcoming audiobook; he will be narrating the next Bond book.

Ehn….e still try and from now on, I’ll thank you to always refer to him as: Oyèlówò, thank you very much!

Oyèlówò was personally invited to take on the part by the estate of Ian Fleming, the creator of 007.

David Oyelowo is a British actor. He has played supporting roles in the films 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' ,'Middle of Nowhere', 'Lincoln' and garnered praise for portraying Louis Gaines in 'The Butler'. On television , he played M15 officer Danny Hunter in the British series 'Spooks'. In 2014, Oyelowo played Martin Luther King, Jr in the biographical drama film ' Selma', for which he received a Golden Globe for Best Actor. David Oyelowo is photographed at the Corinthia Hotel in central London, England.

Although the smart money was on  Idris Elba to win this accolade, Elba himself has always maintained that he is not in talks with the Fleming estate regarding a Bond role, and Dafidi Oyetokunbo Oyèlówò himself has said the following about his fellow British African colleague: “A titan on screen, he has all the qualities that you’d want in a James Bond. Because films and TV affect culture, a black Bond would be a cultural event. A statement… beyond just entertainment.”

His first job will be to play the role of Bond, and other characters, in ‘Trigger Mortis’, penned by Anthony Horowitz from a commission by the Fleming estate.

Odds on Oyelowo becoming the next Bond in the movies have now been slashed. William Hill is offering 5/1 in a dramatic drop from the previous 50/1.

Damien Lewis is still favourite to take over, at 5/2, with Idris Elba at 3/1 and Tom Hardy at 4/1.
