Diamond Platnumz Sets Another Record With New Song, Iyena.

Barely 24 hours and Tanzanian sensation Diamond Platnumz has broken yet another record with his all but confusing song Iyena.

The singer left people scratching their heads when he released a wedding-themed song featuring none other than his ex and mother of his two children, Zari Hassan.

The song, which also features his protégé Rayvanny performed so well in the last 24 hours as it clocked well over a million views — a new African record.

It is not difficult to see why the record was inevitable as fans from East Africa and probably beyond were itching with curiosity to see whether the actual sight of Diamond and Zari in a wedding element was actually real considering all that had transpired since Valentine’s day 2018.

Taking to social media in an Instagram post, Diamond could not help but appreciate his fans for watching the video which by Saturday, June 2, did not add up at all. “Million + Views in less than 19 Hrs… Nawashkuru sana,” he wrote.

One of the singer’s protoges Harmonize, also joined the bandwagon in controversial fashion as he dragged Diamond’s known rival Ali Kiba into the conversation. It was almost as though Harmonize was eager to let Ali Kiba know his boss was making bigger moves musically than him.

“Nakubali simba kwetu 1 million imekuwa kama kunywa maji lakini upande wa pili million moja ni kwa wiki moja tena mbinde (How Great bro. Hitting a million views has been so easy for us as compared to the other side where it takes one week, yet with much struggles),” Harmonize commented on the post which he conveniently tagged Ali Kiba.

Back to the daunting question: Were Diamond and Zari simply warming us up to a music video with their three month break up? Or are they cordial enough to be broken up but still realise they have the potential to make millions together?
