Imade: the Nigerian based model who took New York Fashion Week SS 2017 by storm


Every year, there is ongoing cry for the racism the emerges every year out of New York Fashion Week. There is no doubt about it, the runway is almost singularly white. However, there are always traits of some designers that appreciate models of all colours as long as they can rock the runway. And Imade Ogbewi is one of these very well appreciated models.

The Nigerian model belonging to Isis Models Nigeria (Mother Agency) found herself rocking various runway shows in New York this year, and we are talking major brands.

Unlike most African models rocking the runway at New York who live abroad or outside their home countries, this beautiful and talented young lady is Nigerian based. This means she is very much involved in building a career in Nigeria. But the sky is just the starting point for this lady; there is much more set for Imade.

The model took to New York right after slaying at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg, South Africa. And there is definitely more to come for her in the remaining fashion weeks.
