The wealth of talent, particularly creative talent, in Nigeria is substantial. The more we dig, the more we uncover talent – most of it untapped or underutilised as we concentrate on more conventional methods of success – and this font of creative genius that is Nigerian art, that is spurting out of every crevice is a welcome source of pride for Nigerians.
May we present Patrick Adekunle Adefisayo: a British-born Nigerian artist who makes bold statements and speaks to us using his main medium of oil on canvas.

Adefisayo got a degree and worked in business administration, doing what most of us do – following the money – but the tragic loss of a friend woke him up to the need to rediscover and develop his passion for fine art, a passion he had had from as young as 5 years old
It is easy to see Patrick’s influences in the bold dashes of colour this self-taught artist offers – Fela, with his quest for justice and social equality being one of them.
It would seem there is little Adefisayo cannot conquer. His work on portraits are as enigmatic as his landscapes or his abstracts.
Putting his paintbrush where his mouth is, the artist is working closely with Thinking Aloud With Ayo (TAWA) at the TAWA Chillout that is scheduled to hold on Sunday, April 10th, 2016.

The Chillout allows grown folk to get together, let their hair down without the risk of embarrassing their kids (although they do embarrass themselves which is plenty fair!), dance, shout, eat and sing, and do it all for a good cause.
TAWA Chillout supports Domestic Violence UK, with funds raised from the day going towards the charity that gives survivors of domestic violence support, options and a new hope.
This April, Patrick Adefisayo has committed that 15% of sales from two amazing art sold before or on the day will go to this worthy charity, and we couldn’t be more grateful! The two pieces on sale:

The Dancers | Oil on canvas – 36 x 36 inches
But guys, this is the gift that just keeps on giving! What happens if you do not need artwork right there and then, but might need one on a later date?
Simple! Take note of the code TAWA15. Patrick will honour the code and donate 15% of the proceeds of the sale to this tireless charity!
This is how we make the world go round, ladies and gents: we support our own, we make room for creativity, we clothe ourselves with beauty and our walls with art, we give our brethren a leg up when they’ve hit a rough patch, and the world, it keeps on a-turnin’.
