The Ooni of Ife touched down in London over the weekend, and as always, he was a majestic sight to behold. Okay, I know I am partial, but as Nigerian kings go, His Imperial Majesty Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II is a man and a half.
His virility and aura is the stuff of legends; he really does look like deity turned to man. But more than his looks, the Ooni is aggressively taking Yoruba culture to the world.
I’ve heard comments along the lines of the Ooni being less visible; people have said he should be in the palace; not so easily accessible to the general public. I eschew that belief. It is this action that has corroded our tradition and diluted our heritage. We do not know our Orunmila from our Oya. There are Mexicans who know more about us than we do about ourselves.
The Yoruba king has introduced culture, tourism and employment in Ife. The Ooni has already taken the pride of the Yoruba to various countries including Ghana and America. If the world did not know we had a king and a proud heritage before, by Oodua, they do now!
Welcome, my liege. The United Kingdom is proud and honoured to have you!

I wants to use this platform to awake ife and entire people of osun to be very vigilant as regards to recent attack by hausas, because many of them were killed in the process o
I love him. Kabiesi please mobilize security operatives round your domain o, and my same advice goes to Ogbeni, he should make use his power as chief security officer of the state to avert further attack by either indigen or external within the state
Let me come and be going…
