I did my National Youth Service in a place called Egbemo Angalabiri domain in Ekeremor, Bayelsa; a solely Ijaw/Izon community. So, I mean it by firsthand experience when I say these guys, especially the unlearned and ‘illiterately literate’ ones, aren’t the smartest bunch.
When all is well, they are an awesome and hospitable set of people, but, the comma dem get is this unnecessarily reprehending and aspersive nature. Their unerring penchant for finger-pointing and combing for blame when and where there is none. And, in addition, most are addicted to monkey-tail.
So I wasn’t surprised when news broke, that a self-proclaimed Izon Brotherhood has chosen to blame the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the death of their kinsman and ‘neo-coloniser’, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.
The Izon Brotherhood is a socio-cultural organisation in diaspora.

“They should be ashamed of themselves. Frankly no Ijaw man worth his salt should have anything to do with APC.
With what they have done to our dear leader, Alamieyesiegha, no right thinking son or daughter of Ijaw extraction should be seen associating with the APC. His death is really unfortunate.”
Hmmmn. Just so we know, Bayelsa is one of the richest but least developed states in Nigeria and was ‘fleecefully’ milked by this same “dear brother Alams” when he was Governor.
Yet, this kain yeye dey smell.
Whatever is wrong with us as a people sha…..
