“Water! e no get enemy!” goes the popular song by the late (will always be great) Fela Anikulapo Kuti (Rest In Power Baba!) and he was a 100 percent right. Water is good for you. Now while our society is filled with all sorts of tasty fizzy drinks, they will never be able to topple the king of liquids that is H2O. It is not only the most refreshing drink in existence, it is 100 percent vital for your body’s wholeness and not getting enough of it will lead to some rather ugly repercussions. We are Viva Naija and here are 6 signs you are not drinking enough water
1) Dryness:
Up to 60% of the human adult body is composed of water. All that fluid isn’t going to replenish itself so if you are not getting enough of it, you are going to start experiencing dryness of your skin, mouth and even eyes. So do your body a favor and give her a good dose of H2O lest you find yourself one day looking like:
2) Hunger pangs:
When you are dehydrated, your body might start to think it needs food and you will find yourself craving something to eat. A good way to clear this up is to first get a drink of water when you’re hungry. If the hunger pangs cease then you have your answer and will need to up your H2O intake from now on
3) Fatigue:
When you are dehydrated, the body “borrows” water from the blood stream, which in turn leads to a lack of oxygen to your body and which leads to you feeling extremely fatigued. So the next time you find yourself extremely weary and tired for no apparent reason, reach for that satchet
4) Digestion problems:
Are you having frequent heart burn? Do you suffer from constipation and indigestion? Well my friend your solution lies at the bottom of that water bottle. Drink and feel better!
5) Reduced urination:
If you notice that you dont often go to the toilet to pee and that your pee is a dark yellow, then those are 2 signs that your body is lacking proper hydration. Fix it now
6) Premature aging:
A dehydrated body will age faster than normal because it is not getting enough of it’s needed liquid bubbly. Want to look younger? Then dunk yourself in Nature’s “elixir of youth”
So that’s our list. Did we miss any out? Tell us about it in the comments below. We are Viva Naija and we love you. Now go and drink a glass of water
