Ogun State Government to bankroll Cancer treatment in the state

This is a commendable feat.

Despite the perceived cries of financial crunch bellowed from almost every angle by political office holders, a State government in Naija is taking the initative to be humane towards countrymen who need it most and urgently. Talk about thinking in the right direction.

The Ogun State Government in south-west Nigeria will henceforth, tend to the medical bills of all Cancer patients in the state.

This announcement was made through the state’s first lady,Olufunsho Amosun, at a Cancer Campaign Awareness programme jointly organised by the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, and the Medical Women Association of Nigeria.

The idea also rightly incorporates the necessity of early detection, as Amosun further advised that early detection of cancer helps in tackling the deadly disease. Free cancer checkup and detection centres were also commissioned in the school and in medical establishments in the state.

This feat should be replicated across the States in Nigeria.
