Lord knows if their periods all aligned or something, but Twitterati was ablaze a few hours ago as Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift engaged in an completely unexpected back-and-forth after Swift took issue with Minaj’s Tweets about being snubbed from the MTV Video Music Awards ‘Video of the Year’ category.

Minaj got a nomination in the ‘Best Female Video’ and ‘Best Hip-Hop Video’ categories for ‘Anaconda’ but felt left out of the coveted ‘Video of the Year’ grouping. Nominees in this biggest category went Taylor Swift herself, BeyonceEd Sheeran, and Mark Ronson.

Minaj criticized MTV for the decision on Twitter earlier today, raising the possibility that her status as a Black female artist consistently relegates her to so-called urban categories like ‘Best Hip-Hop Video.’

They kuku weren’t talking to Swift o, but she took offence, taking the Tweet as a personal slight being as she’s a slim artist, writing, “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”

All up in her feelings, bless.

Nicki made it known that she was not talking to her by responding:

In response, Swift proceeded to further put her foot in her mouth by telling Nicki that should Bad Blood win, Nicki was welcome to join her on stage. Why, you’re too kind, Ms Swift. No. Really.

Then Solange, who we know has not backed down from a fight YET, she gets into the ring by retweeting one of Nicki’s main messages for the night. Toh.

Even Kim Kardashian seemed to wade into the middle of things by stating that controversial line from when Hubster of Laive Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift at the 2009 VMAs

When she saw that nobody was playing though, she backed off right QUICK:
