WHY YOU ARE RICHER THAN YOU THINK.

By Solomon A. Johnson.

I’m not about to sweet-talk you into believing something that isn’t true. Neither is this an attempt to impress you with mind-blowing words. I am simply going to open your eyes to something that is rarely ever talked about: you are richer than you think.

You may have very little money in your bank account, or even have nothing at all. Or maybe you don’t live in the kind of environment you want, or you’re just managing at the moment. You’re still richer than you think.

Now, we live in a world of facts and figures. There’s data for almost everything. As a result, any information or explanation that isn’t backed by data is usually downplayed. But this is sometimes wrong. Stats are not always a full reflection of the truth.

To be rich, according to Merriam Webster dictionary, is to have abundant possessions and especially material wealth.

Of a truth, most people do not have abundant possessions (material wealth), and so they are not classified as rich. But the flip side of the coin is, while some of these people have what it takes to acquire material wealth (knowledge, discipline, hard work, etc), they also have what material wealth cannot help them acquire (life, health, happiness). The only reason why they don’t yet possess material wealth is time, opportunity and action.

A farmer who has planted all his crops may not have anything to show for it at that moment. But that is only one side of the coin. He has an abundance coming up soon.
A woman who does not yet have a child, but is pregnant, may not yet be called a mother. But that’s only one side of the coin. Her time is coming soon.

It is only the living that can make money. Money cannot give life. And that is not to say that money isn’t important. But that life is more important and more valuable than money.
If you’re alive and in good health, you’re richer than you think. You have what money cannot buy. Stop comparing yourself with others.

If you have a family that loves you, a few good friends, good health, food on your table, and roof over your head, you’re richer than you think.

Do not get caught up in figures of the amount you’re not yet making, but rather be thankful for the opportunities and privileges you have. You have what it takes to make as much money as you want, or acquire as much properties as you want. It’s just a matter of putting in the right effort and waiting for your time.

You are richer than you think. Always remember this.
