Donate to The Lovatt Foundation: Providing Needed Relief in War Torn Northern Nigeria

7

The Lovatt Foundation does awesome work in Northern Nigeria. From the Children of Borno to the Gidan Almajirai, they bring succour to those afflicted by the wars that have happened in that area.

The founder, Fiona Lovatt, has worked tirelessly to bring respite to the indigenes of our Northern lands after years of decimation and despair at the hands of terrorists and religious extremists. The money goes to everything that is needed: from blankets to basic food needs and even accommodation. And rather than just given these people fish, the Lovatt Foundation also teaches them how to fish. With N5000, a new business can be started. Not just a new business, but a new lease on life.

We want to do our best to raise awareness for the wondrous charity on a GLOBAL scale. We want to put our money where our mouth is and make a difference we can see!

PLEASE GIVE WHAT YOU CAN! NO AMOUNT IS TOO SMALL!

Mothers Alive:

Mothers Alive aims to equip rural health workers with equipment that can save up to 70 birthing women who might otherwise die from post-partum haemorrhage:
$180 (£125) per Life-wrap ($2.50 per life saved)

Gidan Almajirai:

The Gidan Almajirai has been operating as a co-operative for young scholars of Qur’an, since January 2012. Currently 10 members run the house independently, while at secondary school. Small enterprises are explored as a practical experience of the curriculum. Apprenticeships and community service are part of the total picture. Our project allows the almajiri to attend formal education or to take an apprenticeship with a master craftsman for a year which is where we seek assistance for from donations.

$125(£85) per term x3 terms enables an almajiri to attend a secondary school. A commitment of 5 or 6 years is preferred.
$50(£34) enables a youth to take an apprenticeship with a master craftsman for a year.
$25(£17) feeds a youth for a month.
$15(£11) clothes a youth.
