United Kingdom Wing of APC (Ondo State) of the All Progressive Congress has strongly advocated for a credible gubernatorial primary election within the party ahead of November 2016 election.

This strong warning is contained in a released issued and signed by the Vice Chairman of APC UK Ondo State, Mr. Ayo Adigun who specifically stated that it is only credible primary that can help the party in picking the best candidate.
Mr Adigun said, “It has become imperative for APC to win November governorship election in Ondo State so that we can move our dear state to the Promised Land”.

He also added that “The gubernatorial primary election must be absolutely transparent and credibly acceptable by all standard, the governorship candidate for APC must be a person who has the ability to imagine how Ondo state can be developed in the future and develop a strategic implementation plan suitable for the benefit of the citizens”.

He advised APC delegates and members to remain focused on the governorship candidate that is very optimistic about the future of Ondo State. “The governorship candidate must be able to focus on the unique strengths of individual and resolute for making a better tomorrow than today and remain hopeful”. He said delegates should reject the highest bidder if he/she is not trusted and credible.

Mr Adigun revealed that the APC UK (Ondo State) has agreed to use all available resources and international connections to support a credible and a visionary individual who is capable of creating a positive and inspirational vision for the future of our state and who will convey that visions in an engaging manner that will attract our people.

Mr Adigun advocated for the type of governor the people of Ondo State wanted now as “a governorship candidate that can thrive on innovation, change and encourage creative thinking and problem-solving skills in government. He must be an individual that embraces change, views the use of new ideas and processes as progress”.

The UK APC Chapter condemned in strong terms the inability of the Dr Olusegun Mimiko’s administration to revive all the government owned ailing companies.

The current government of PDP under the leadership of Dr Olusegun Mimiko is confused and lack proper leadership directions and the government has no economic policy to revamp any of the dead industries that is capable of providing employment to our teaming population.

Mr Adigun sited examples of moribund companies like Ifon Ceramic Industry, Oluwa Glass Industry and Nigeria-Romania Wood Industry (NIROWI) Ondo yet un-revived .

Mr Adigun said “Considering the current economic downturn, The PDP government in state failed to come up with an effective framework to reduce the cost of administration of governance and political appointments, in a way that will reflect the current economic reality in order to enhance payment of civil servant salaries and pensioners”.
He concluded that “If one of these industries was revamped by the current administration it would guarantee up to 2,000 jobs with a multiple effect on social/ economic development of the local community”.
