Increase Your Business Worth With Confidence

According to the author of the Motivated Mind, Professor Raj Persaud – true self confidence comes from an attitude where you “promise yourself, no matter how difficult the problem life throws at you, that you will try as hard as you can to help yourself. You acknowledge that sometimes your efforts to help yourself may not result in success, as often as being properly rewarded is not in your control.

Self confidence can make or break your business. Whether you sell £1 goods or run a multi- million pounds conglomerate, you need the Self-Confidence Equation to keep that business afloat.

Self Confidence Equation is a combination of your upbringing, your social network, what your family and friends say about you, failures, successes and aspirations.

Self-confidence plays an important role in the success of your business.

Your self-confidence is what your customers buy into, well before they see your products or services.

Confidence in your product or service is what enables you to tell the potential customer that you have what they need.

Self-confidence is what wakes you up in the morning, knowing that today is a good day for business.

Self-confidence is what enables you to charge what you are worth for your products or services.

It is what motivates you to grow your business knowing that you have a workable plan that has great potential.

If you don’t have confidence in your abilities and in your business’ potential, it is unlikely that you will put in the effort to grow your business.  The tips below can give you a better perspective and help grow your business confidence:

Plan and Prepare

“To fail to plan is to plan to fail.”  I am sure you must have heard this quote thrown around a few times. Planning boosts your self confidence.  Whether you are starting a new business, launching a new product range, speaking at or organising an event, planning helps reduce the anxiety and boosts your confidence in the outcome.

Spend time planning the next stage of your business. Like a chess player, envisage what will happen when you move your chess pieces.  I love this quote by Alexander Alekhine; he said “chess first of all teaches you to be objective.”  Be objective about your plans – be clear about your goal and work hard to make it happen.

Embrace ‘No’

‘No’ is not the end of the world. Accept this fact knowing there are opportunities waiting for you somewhere else.  A friend of mine gave me a good nudge at the time I was shying away from starting a new venture.  He asked me “what is the worst that could happen”?  I made notes of the pros and cons of my idea and all of a sudden the step I had to take no longer seemed so daunting.  I was no longer afraid of the outcome and I was confident that either way I will keep moving forward.

Has your idea being rejected a few times and you are wondering if you should try again?  Remember this quote by Thomas Edison “our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”

Your Thoughts Build Your World

Your words are important and they are the product of who you think you are.  Self-confident people speak words that are positive and engaging.  People are drawn to their positive energy and want to be around them. When you talk about your business idea or your existing business, what do you say?  Do you spend time talking about the hard times or the potential of your business?  Do you allow people to buy into your positive energy or do you speak gloom and doom?

Your words build your world and your world includes your business. Use positive words to build your confidence in the expected outcome.

Surround Yourself with Positive Energy

I love this quote “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20 Amplified Bible.  If you want to grow in confidence, find people who motivate you and who are willing to support you to grow and be all you can be.  Stay clear of the nay-sayers, especially those who tend to see things from a negative perspective.  Build your self-confidence, and then you will be able to support and encourage others too.

Practice this – make a commitment to speak positive words for a whole day.  Start with yourself, your family, the weather, your marketing strategy and everything you will encounter in just one day.  Then practice it for two days, a week and before you know it – it will become a part of you.  A positive mindset and positive words are part of the self-confidence equation.

Successful people have confidence in their abilities. They believe if one thing fails, there will always be another opportunity. They are willing to take risks that other people choose to avoid.  If you want to grow in confidence and in your business start with a mindset change – change your mind to change your world.
