The first Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha is dead. He reportedly died at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State.
He reportedly died of a cardiac arrest today, having slipped into coma two days ago. He was aged 63.
Now, was it fear of extradition or the scare of that yard called Scotland? The detail of events show that this deterioration in his health commenced just days after news broke about a possible extradition for trial to the UK to face5 his corruption charges.
Death, mostly, calls for a sad and commiserate reflection. But, for a man who jumped bail in the UK disguised as a woman, many Nigerians on social media are already tagging this news of his death as a hoax aimed at evading extradition, again. Blame them?
Well, it would be recalled though, that, the Jonathan government infamously granted pardon for Alamieyeseigha’s ’embezzlement sins’, but, it is unsurprising that the probe-trotting Buhari government just resurrected the dust, and the UK snapped.
If this is entirely true, we say, RIP Alams!
