I didn’t even know there was a mayoral candidate election going on! I’m so silly.
Anyhoo, for you tuned-on and tuned-in politics enthusiasts, Sadiq Khan, MP for Tooting, has beaten Tessa Jowell to the position of Labour candidate for the 2016 London mayoral elections.
Mr Khan won 48,152 votes, a 58.9% share, in the fifth round of voting after four other candidates had been eliminated. He says he was “overwhelmed” and “deeply honoured” when the votes were read out.
Ex-minister Tessa Jowell, who was widely regarded as the frontrunner going into the contest, came second with 41.1% of the vote.
How do you normally vote? Labour? Tory? Do you vote? Abi you’re on some Oluwole tinz and don’t care either way?
Holla at your girl, lemme know what the deal is next year. Whether mek I start to pack my load.
